The Chariot
The Chariot card is the seventh Major Arcana card in a traditional tarot deck. It is often associated with themes of control, determination, and success. This card typically depicts a figure, usually a charioteer, standing or sitting in a chariot being drawn by two creatures, which can be horses or sphinxes, often of contrasting colors (black and white). The charioteer often holds a wand or a scepter, and wears armor adorned with symbols of the sun, moon, or stars, suggesting protection and divine influence. The imagery of the Chariot card varies slightly between different tarot decks, but the core elements remain consistent.

The Chariot is a card of triumph and shows that sheer willpower and determination will lead to victory. It suggests overcoming obstacles through confidence and control. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining control over one's emotions, desires, and direction. The contrasting creatures pulling the chariot symbolize opposing forces that need to be balanced.

The card often heralds a time of success and recognition, indicating that hard work and perseverance will be rewarded. It can also represent a physical journey or a significant progression in one’s personal or professional life.

Something to be aware of when drawing this card in any context: The reversed Chariot often points to a loss of direction or a lack of control over one's circumstances. It suggests being pulled in different directions without a clear goal. Familiar with the term "runaway chariot"? This can be a perfect analogy for this! It may signify delays, setbacks, or obstacles that are hindering progress. The charioteer may be struggling to move forward.

It can also indicate aggressive behavior or impatience, suggesting that one might be trying to force things to happen rather than letting them unfold naturally.

Key Traits: Movement, progress, life's journey, sense of urgency in making important life decisions, big life steps. (big steppies!)

Key Traits (reversed): Being thrown off course, impatience, roadblocks, being lead astray from a purpose or idea.
