The Fool

In Tarot, the Fool card is often depicted as a young person, standing at the edge of a cliff with a small bundle slung over their shoulder. They seem carefree and unaware of the potential danger before them. The Fool is numbered as 0 in the Tarot's Major Arcana, signifying new beginnings, innocence, and the start of a journey.

The Fool represents adventure, or a new phase in life. It signifies stepping into the unknown with enthusiasm and optimism, regardless of the risks involved. They are embodied with a childlike innocence and spontaneity. They are free from preconceived notions and expectations, open to whatever experiences lie ahead.

The Fool is often portrayed as someone who takes risks without much thought or consideration of consequences. This can symbolize a willingness to embrace uncertainty and trust in one's intuition. They trust in the universe or a higher power to guide them on their journey. They have faith that things will work out as they should, even if they don't have a clear plan or direction.

The Fool lives in the moment, unburdened by past regrets or future worries. They remind us to savor the present and embrace the beauty of life as it unfolds. They represent unlimited potential and endless possibilities. It encourages us to be open-minded and curious, ready to explore new opportunities and avenues for growth. They are free from societal expectations and constraints. They follow their own path and encourage others to do the same in their own existence.

Often depicted to be the weakest card or the strongest of the entire deck. In short, I would call this a wild card. Whenever you see this card pop up in a reading it can inspire optimism as well as caution, as we cannot see over the hills in front of us but must use a measure of faith that things will "work out".

Likewise, whenever I give a reading for others, the same feelings can pop out. I often have to contain myself whenever I see this one manifest in a reading, in particular with romantic or career affairs. I personally tend to lean towards optimism when I see this card, but all of that is in the eye of the beholder.
